About Lou
I am a dedicated flute tutor with 16+ years of teaching experience, having successfully trained around 150 students. I teach learners of all levels and help them build strong musical skills.
My teaching method focuses on communication, patience, and flexibility. I adapt my lessons based on each student’s learning pace and goals. I focus on strong fundamentals such as breathing techniques, fingering, tone production, and rhythm.
I include creative exercises and songs in my lessons to make learning engaging and enjoyable. This keeps students motivated and consistent.
My strength is guiding students step by step and helping them overcome challenges easily. I also teach basic music theory to support overall learning. My goal is to make flute learning simple and effective.

My flute teaching methodology is centred on adapting to individual learning styles, maintaining flexibility, encouraging collaboration, and creating a positive learning environment. I believe that each student learns at their own pace, so I design lessons that are both personalised and effective.
I focus on building strong fundamentals such as breath control, tone quality, posture, and finger coordination. These skills are essential for developing confidence and consistency in flute playing.
Flexibility allows me to adjust lesson plans according to the student’s progress and comfort level. Collaboration is encouraged through interactive sessions where students actively participate and share ideas.
I create a supportive and motivating atmosphere where students feel confident to learn and improve. Along with flute, I also teach music theory, rhythm, and ear training to support complete musical development.
