About Xander
"Starting out feels a bit like untangling a knot, but we make sense of it quickly. I introduce basic lead guitar, chord transitions, and maintenance tasks during that first hour. We use my BMus background to build a strong foundation in scales, modes, and blues progressions. You will also learn rhythm guitar and barre chords as we go.
To help with your songwriting, I provide custom backing tracks so you can practise soloing at home. My 5 years of teaching experience means I can simplify complex concepts easily. Whether you want to master grade exam prep or play for fun, I am ready to guide you.
It is quite straightforward once you have the right tools. I know exactly how to get you playing comfortably."

"Working professionals often need the most structure because their schedules shift constantly. It is actually easier to learn guitar when you have limited time.
I have taught 91 students who found success by focusing on efficiency rather than endless practice hours. My path began with a BMus in Vocal Performance before I spent 7 years performing with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. That orchestral background informs how I teach rhythm and melodic structure. I treat every student as an individual with unique goals.
