About Jack

I'm a professional musician based in Deptford teaching double bass, bass guitar and music theory. I have a first class music degree from Leeds Conservatoire and a Masters degree from Trinity Laban conservatoire in Greenwich.

I have plenty of experience in teaching students of a range of ages and abilities. I specialise in playing and teaching jazz but I am also comfortable with a number of different genres including pop, blues and classical.

I perform regularly around the country and have experience playing with a variety of ensembles including small groups, big bands, orchestras and pit bands.

About the lesson

I aim to equip students with the skills they need to be able to practice effectively, make progress fast and most importantly, have fun. Lessons are tailored to each students needs to ensure they can achieve their goals and begin to set new ones.

Whether you are a beginner or advanced, hobbyist or seeking a career, I will be able to accommodate your needs and take your playing to the next level.

In lessons we will look at topics such as technique, harmony, rhythm, improvisation, sight reading and music theory. I believe it's important to have a thorough understanding of the different elements that create music in order to feel comfortable when performing and play with the maximum amount of expression.
