About Charly
I am a DPhil student at Oxford University, and I have a master's degree in Book History and Material Culture at Edinburgh University (distinction.) I also hold a Bachelors in English with SEN and a specialist Literacy Qualification. I worked for many years as a teacher, so I’m well equipped to understand the things students will struggle with most and how to correct them.

Our first lesson will be about getting acquainted with your work, the skills you have, the skills you need, and coming up with a plan for achieving your goals.
Even if you’ve never written an essay before, I can have you producing writing that you can be proud of within a couple of weeks to months depending on our starting point. I’m prepared to teach you writing from a sentence by sentence level to paragraph by paragraph and so on.
While proofreading, I will not simply proofread for you, but have you actively involved so that you can learn to proofread your own work in the future.
These will not be simple learning exercises, but will be the building blocks to your university and higher education applications.

Charly helped me understand my English language and literature GCSE, resulting in my exceeding my teacher's expectations and giving me an 8 in both.
Charly is so patient, calm and exceptionally good at finding ways to explain something that I didn't understand, no question is to silly. Lessons are enjoyable, by the end I feel more confident.
Great tutor would highly recommend.
