My teaching method is foundational- I focus on helping train the eye to see what it is drawing, the mind to perceive the shapes that comprise an object, and the artist to develop the tools they need to approach more complicated subject matter. I require a sketch diary with daily assignments. Drawing requires both physical and mental muscles and practice is essential to improvement. I am happy to customize my lessons should a student have a particular aim or subject matter in mind.
