About Oliver
About a year ago I graduated with a first from Leeds Conservatoire and began teaching the drums in schools. While this makes me a relative newcomer to teaching music, I have taught in other capacities since I was a teenager and have done music professionally since I was 8 years old. I have performed with countless different artists in a variety of different venues from tiny pubs to some of the biggest venues and festivals in the uk.

Currently I teach students at a range of abilities from ages 6 to some in their 60s and lesson lengths vary based on the needs and goals of the students. I believe it's important to tailor lessons uniquely to each student. For example, while I myself hold a grade 8 and plenty of my students are working towards grades, I realize the exam structure isn't right for every student. Even when learning exam pieces it's important that they are supplemented with looking at technique and musicality as sometimes we just play the notes without thinking about how or why they are playing them. It's much more than just hitting drums.
My speciality is Rock/Pop drumming but I have experience in most styles.
I hold a full enhanced DBS and a driver's license.
