About Merijn
My dad was a drummer, and I followed in his footsteps from a very young age. I've always loved music and the chance to be the driving force of a band really is one of the best experiences imaginable. With 20+ years of experience as both a performing drummer and teacher, I welcome all levels and ages. I have extensive experience preparing students for grade exams such as Trinity, Rockschool and more, and depending on your personal interests, we can custom design a curriculum to ensure you get the most out of lessons, always leave your lesson with a real sense of achievement and of course have tons of fun during lessons! I can teach online, or in person at the Storm Studios in Holloway, or my home studio in Clapham Park, where I'm fully set up with drumkits and PA system to play to your favourite tunes live. Lessons are 30 minutes or 55 minutes and may be every other week, or weekly. I am a conservatoire educated musician and teacher, and I am fully DBS checked.

Merijn has been teaching me for 2 years. I was a complete beginner when I started, but now I have my own drumkit and sometimes play with a friend who is a guitarist. I never really thought i'd be able to play an instrument, but Merijn gave me the confidence I needed, and his lessons are just so much fun!
Merijn has been my 15 year old son's teacher since he was 6, and it has been quite extra-ordinary to see my son flourish as a drummer. He is now playing in 2 bands, and he is always so upset if he has to miss one of his lessons. Drum lessons with Merijn are still one of his highlights of the week
I love my lessons with Merijn. We always play the songs I like, and he somehow always makes me feel like I really achieved something. He makes lessons fun, and makes me feel like a real drummer!
JennyMerijn is the most patient and kind teacher I've ever had, and he is the best drummer I have ever heard. Lesson with him are a real joy, and I always come away from a session wih a spring in my step, energized! Highly recommend
