About Smith
I am an experienced violin tutor with 8 years of teaching experience, helping students from school level to working professionals build their musical abilities. Teaching music is something I truly enjoy, and I am committed to helping students achieve their goals.
My teaching philosophy is based on strong fundamentals, regular practice, and gradual improvement. I believe that learning violin becomes easier when concepts are clearly explained and practised consistently. I focus on teaching posture, bow control, finger placement, and note reading before moving to advanced techniques.
I also guide students in improving rhythm, tone, and musical expression. I have successfully trained over 150 students, many of whom have improved their confidence and performance skills. I create a comfortable and encouraging learning environment. My goal is to make violin learning a smooth and rewarding experience.

My teaching style is focused on making violin learning clear, motivating, and practical. I use real-life examples and simple explanations to help students understand concepts like rhythm, pitch, and musical expression. I focus on important fundamentals such as posture, finger placement, bow control, and scales to build a strong technical base.
I teach step by step and ensure students gain confidence before progressing further. I also personalise my teaching approach based on each student’s needs. Communication is very important in my classes, and I encourage students to ask questions and stay involved.
I provide regular feedback and guidance to support their growth. I follow values like honesty, discipline, and commitment. Along with violin, I also teach music theory, ear training, rhythm exercises, and performance techniques.
