About Kristen
With 14 years of experience in teaching violin, I have successfully guided around 300 students, including high school students, college learners, and adults, helping them grow step by step in their musical journey. My teaching approach is student-focused, flexible, and practical, as I believe each student has unique learning needs.
I focus on fundamentals such as posture, bow control, finger placement, and tone quality, while also encouraging students to express themselves through music. I explain concepts clearly and provide exercises that help students improve consistently.
One of my key achievements is helping students build confidence and perform with ease. My goal is to create a supportive and inspiring learning environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and excited to learn violin.

My violin teaching methodology emphasizes communication, adaptability, and connecting lessons to practical musical experiences. I carefully assess each student’s learning style and goals, then tailor lessons to suit their abilities and pace. I focus on posture, bowing, fingering, intonation, tone production, phrasing, and expressive playing while encouraging creativity and personal interpretation.
I use real-life examples such as performing favorite songs, practicing for recitals, and exploring the emotional storytelling of music to make lessons engaging and meaningful. Alongside violin, I teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and basic piano skills to strengthen overall musicianship.
My goal is to create a supportive, structured, and inspiring environment where students gain confidence, improve steadily, and develop a lifelong love for music.
