About Brenda
Playing guitar since I was 8 years old shaped how I hear music today. Over 13 years of playing have taken me from the open mic scenes of Montreal to the stages of Toronto. I enjoy helping students move from beginner stages to intermediate playing through finger-style and folk techniques.
My approach covers electric technique, music theory, power chords, and complex scales or modes. I also handle tuning, maintenance, barre chords, acoustic technique, and lead guitar work. Teaching people ear training and smooth chord transitions is the most rewarding part of my work.

Starting with a diagnostic skills check is the only way to build a real lesson plan. Trying to jump into advanced songs without understanding your current foundation often leads to frustration.
My Bachelor of Music from Selkirk College ensures we have the technical background to support your progress. Sessions move at a pace that keeps your fingers moving and your brain active. We prioritize groove and feel above all else to make sure you sound like a musician. You will be playing better by the end of our first meeting.
