About Lisa
I am a musician primarily who has spent several years teaching English. Part of this comes from my own interest in Languages as I am an opera singer who regularly sings in Italian, French, Italian and Spanish, as well as countless other languages. This gives me an insight into pronunciation issues, and how to relate English to the learner's native lanuage (depending on which langage!). I trained at International House in Barcelona, where I gained my CELTA qualification with a B, and continued to teach in the area over the next year. I then started teaching on summer camps in Italy, quickly becoming a course coordinator in addition to my teaching responsibilities, which I did for a number of years. I also taught English with various companies in the UK, both residential and non-residential. I have prepared students for exams, designed course curriculum and led conversation classes.

I tailor lessons to individual students and like to use a variety of methods including (but not limited to) games, music, drama, and creative writing. Different people learn in different ways and I use a variety of methods in my lessons to cater for this. I view language as a creative thing and this reflects in my approach to teaching, and above all it has to be an enjoyable experience. I approach teaching language as a language learner myself.
