About David
I’m David, an economic consultant based in London. I studied at LSE and Bocconi University, and before moving into consulting I worked in academic research.
Throughout my years at university, I often found myself helping classmates with subjects they were struggling with, whether by sharing my notes or going over concepts together.
I realised that I genuinely enjoy finding simple ways to explain complex concepts and helping people understand the logic behind them. Economics and quantitative subjects can sometimes feel unnecessarily complicated when you first encounter them, and I know from experience that having someone explain the same idea in a different way can make a big difference.

I tailor my lessons to what each student needs, whether that means going over a topic from scratch, working through problem sets, preparing for an exam, or simply getting more comfortable with quantitative methods.
For economics and game theory, I try to make sure the intuition behind a concept is clear before moving on to the maths and formal models. I also assign and go over readings where useful, to help students engage with and understand both key and more recent work in the field. For statistics and econometrics, I combine theory with practical examples and can also work through applications in Stata and Excel.
Lessons are usually 60 minutes, but I’m happy to do longer sessions when needed.
I currently work in economic consulting in London and have a double Master’s degree from LSE and Bocconi University. I graduated with Distinction from LSE and 110/110 cum laude from Bocconi, and received a Distinction for my Master’s thesis, where I used a shift-share instrumental variable approach to evaluate the impact of a tax incentive policy on economic growth and productivity in Italy. Before moving into consulting, I also worked as a predoctoral Research Associate on projects in labour economics and consumer finance, including work on a randomised controlled trial.
I teach Economics (microeconomics, macroeconomics, public economics and political economy), Applied Econometrics (IV, shift-share IV, RDD and DiD), Statistics (linear regression, binary, multinomial and ordinal logistic models, and Poisson and negative binomial regression) and Game Theory (normal-form games, extensive-form games with imperfect information, finite- and infinite-horizon bargaining, signalling games and cheap-talk games), mainly at A-level and undergraduate level.
