About Ivan
I have years of experience teaching and leading secondary school children from 14-18 as a volunteer at Mulberry School for Girls since 2015, in addition to tutoring peers at university. I achieved a 2:1 in BSc Economics at the University of Essex in 2018, where I had work published in the Department of Economics Student Journal and received a mark of 87 on my dissertation on "Impacts and Effects of Open Source Software". Whilst at university, I took part in the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Programme, where I helped a professor in the Government Department with econometric analysis. I currently work in the Civil Service as an Assistant Economist in Westminser.

I believe that learning is individual, even if the content is the same: I aim to teach understanding and the logic behind topics first, as this creates a solid foundation for exams and future study. Students that understand the 'why' behind questions are far more suited to figure out 'how' to answer questions.
As with all tuition, aims, goals, and work will be agreed at the first lesson in addition to any individual requirements.

During my role as Faculty Convenor at the University of Essex Students' Union, where a part of my employment was to liaise and train with course representative across the Faculty of Social Sciences, I met Ivan as a distinguished representative at the Department of Economics. He demonstrated self-initiative and considerable knowledge in his efforts on portraying how the Department could improve the learning experience of its students.
Ivan is now a dear friend who has mentored me on several occasions in my own pursuit of a degree that focuses on Economics. He has a natural charisma, and is brilliant in explaining complicated concepts in a very simplified manner that would help his students.Ivan is friendly and affable young chap with an unrelenting passion for economics, this is certainly illustrated through his unhealthy and quite odd obsession with Adam Smith. Despite his boundless and unrivalled expertise, Ivan remains modest and ensures his explanations do not overstep the recipients' understanding. Ivan's great enthusiasm for economics and teaching make him the perfect tutor for any A-level/Undergraduate economics student contemplating being the next John Keynes or Milton Friedman, 10/10.
Highly knowledgeable and is extremely good at breaking complicated concepts into easy and understandable chunks. This has been crucial and very effective when he has personally helped me at university to further my knowledge.

Details
I do not distinguish between levels of education nor distance, nor do I charge a cancellation fee if I'm notified before the lesson. I do, however, charge a lower rate to secondary school students from backgrounds that typically underperform at school from anywhere between £0 to my full rate. This can be agreed individually. No child should have their success and education hindered due to their circumstances and I encourage parents to have this conversation with me if they think this may apply.
