About Sam
I'm an experienced, passionate and driven tutor who will do everything to help my students achieve their goals! I always tailor my lessons to my students and always look for the best ways in which they learn. I have been teaching for about seven years now.
During my time at university I was a Tutor teaching Maths to students who went to the local high schools and Economics to students who went to the local colleges and sixth forms. I taught students of all abilities and have discovered new ways of approaching concepts and methods, improving my ability to teach lessons tailored to the student as opposed to homogeneous lessons. I enjoy teaching and helping students better themselves to achieve their goals in life.
Also, as a sailing instructor, teaching is a key skill which has been honed over the last few years. Developing new ways to teach both the practical and theoretical side of sailing has played a large part of my job. Teaching in a way that my students understand by listening to them is the most important and transferable skill I have from being a sailing instructor. I have taught in three different sailing centres teaching children age six and above.
Alongside teaching I enjoy performing, composing and producing my own music as well as dinghy boat racing in the Summer. I'm an interesting, relaxed and driven tutor and I will always do my best to ensure my students get the most from my lessons.

This greatly depends on how the student best learns. But generally for maths I set work each week to test and push their abilities. For both maths and economics I ask many questions during lessons to keep my students engaged and ensure they are working things out for themselves.
