About Adam
Hi, I’m Adam. I’m a current Economics student at the University of Sydney with a genuine passion for both economics and teaching. When I first started HSC Economics, I was not a top student - I scored around 50% in my first assessment task. Through refining my study approach, understanding how the syllabus and marking criteria actually work, and focusing on exam technique, I was able to significantly improve and ultimately achieve a score of 98 in the HSC.
Having recently completed the course, I have a strong understanding of the current syllabus, common student pitfalls, and what examiners are really looking for. I pride myself on being organized, reliable, and professional, and I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. My goal is to help students improve their results by teaching the exact strategies and habits that worked for me.

My approach to tutoring is centred on making HSC Economics clear, structured, and practical, especially for students who feel overwhelmed by content or unsure how to write strong exam answers.
I focus on helping students understand how the syllabus actually works, what examiners are looking for, and the tricks and habits that helped me consistently gain full mark responses in HSC short answer and essays.
Lessons are highly syllabus-driven and exam-focused. I break down each topic into:
️ Clear theory explanations (in simple language),
️ Step-by-step diagram walkthroughs,
️ And structured connections of theory to short-answer and extended-response questions.
️ Provision of statistics for substantiation in Extended Response questions
A major focus is exam technique, how to interpret verbs, structure responses, integrate diagrams effectively, and use contemporary examples without over-memorising statistics.
Lessons are student driven rather than lecture-style. Students are expected to ask questions freely , attempt questions during the lesson, and explain concepts back to ensure genuine understanding.
Most lessons run for 60 minutes, which allows enough time to:
️ Cover a concept in depth,
️ Apply it to exam-style questions,
️ And address individual weaknesses.
Longer sessions can be arranged if needed, particularly closer to exams or for essay practice.
I recently completed the HSC with a 98.9 ATAR, scoring 98 in Economics. Having just gone through the course, I have a strong understanding of:
️ The current syllabus,
️ Common student mistakes,
️ And how marks are actually awarded in exams.
This allows me to teach Economics in a way that is practical, relevant, and up-to-date, rather than overly theoretical.
My lessons are designed for:
Year 11 and Year 12 Economics students
️ Students aiming to improve confidence, exam technique, or push into higher bands
️ Students who feel behind and need concepts explained clearly from the ground up
️ I adapt lessons to each student’s level and goals, whether that’s building foundational understanding or refining top-band responses.
