About Jamie
I'm a Neuroscience graduate from the University of Edinburgh, which shapes how I teach: much of my study was about memory and pattern recognition, so I base my lessons in methods that are proven to work, though everyone learns a little differently.
I teach GCSE and A level science, GCSE English Literature, chess and biological sciences to the undergraduate level, with a strong academic background and plenty of personal experience to draw from.
Previously I have spent a year private tutoring English in other countries, both in person and through online lessons when I am in the UK. I love teaching and think it's important to build a positive relationship to get the most out of lessons.

My teaching is extremely personalised to each student, the thing first is always to find out what you are struggling with and how you learn best.
I always try to use evidence based methods from the science of learning of memory, though this can look a little different for everyone. The most important thing is helping you become interested in the subjects you are working on, so that lessons become something to look forward to rather than a chore.
Online lessons are provided through google meets and interactive worksheets, along with structured plans and homework once I have an understanding of your level and goals.
