About Holly
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Linguistics/TESOL and have been tutoring since 2016. I became a classroom teacher in 2019, and have since taught every level from Kindergarten through University. I lived and taught in Japan from 2019-2026, and have been teaching online lessons and offering tutoring service independently since 2024.
I love to include information about Japan and Japanese culture in my lessons, and have a lot of experience with both traditional Japanese culture as well as modern culture like anime and gaming, so there is always something fun to learn about in my lessons!

My teaching philosophy is that all learners are unique and therefore deserve adaptable lessons that suit their individual needs. I offer 45 minute lessons for children 10 and under, and lessons for ages 11 and up can be from 1-2 hours depending on the learning goals and schedule of the student. For beginners through intermediate learners, all four language skills are covered- speaking, listening, reading, and writing. JLPT-specific preparatory lessons are also available. I also offer speaking-focused lessons for those wanting to learn Japanese for travel.
