Where possible chalk and talk, this approach in my opinion, gives all students a better chance of understanding
the subject better by allowing questions for those who don,t get it first time round. Also where posable, practical skills should be instructed on eg. Soldering,. the use of multi-metres, oscilloscopes, basic test equipment use.

From leaving secondary school, to my mid 20’s, I was first an apprentice mechanical engineer with seddon atkinson , HGV truck manufactures in Oldham Manchester.
Where I learnt to weld, braze, turn, mill, fabricate, sheet metal skills, ECT.
After this I then went into the general mechanical engineering industry.
I was considered a very accomplished engineer by my work colleges and management.
In my mid 20,s the manufacturing industry went into decline and then I retrained in
Electronic engineering. Eg I went and got my city & guilds in electronic servicing.
My considerable knowledge of machines gave me advantages in this new industry, as I now became multi skilled.
When the electronics service industry collapsed due to cheap disposable electronics,
I then went to university.
After Qualifying & leaving University:
During and after university I worked as a fully qualified, tested and proven industrial electrician, with responsibility for apprentice theoretical education.

although because of my background I was also consulted on the mechanical design.

time sensitive elements were of foremost importance.
Again because of my engineering background I also repaired the ships electrical
