About Elizabeth
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have taught for many years with the Stockport Learning Support Service, with experience in a number of secondary schools in the area. I work one to one with students with learning difficulties and have particular success in improving reading skills especially where students have become very discouraged by dyslexia.

I am an experienced learning support teacher, dedicated to enabling my students to achieve their full potential Through fun, accessible and well paced lessons I raise my students' self belief and consequent attainment in literacy and numeracy.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I teach English and Maths ages 8 -14, specialising in literacy and numeracy for children with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyslcalculia and those associated with ASD. I also teach study skills, revision techniques and development of working memory skills. I am experienced in assessment of dyslexia and related difficulties.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I am a qualified teacher, with a post graduate certificate in Specific Learning Difficulties and I am an Associated Member of the British Dyslexia Association. I am qualifed to asesss and provide specialist reports for dyslexia. As a teacher for Stockport Learning Support Service, I pursue continual professional development , with recent training in Motivational Maths teaching and promoting self-esteem.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £28 an hour. I will undertake an initial half-hour consultation free.
- Where do you teach?
I can teach either at my home, Marple, Stockport, or at students' homes.
- When are you available?
Mondays and Thursdays 3.00pm - 8.00pm
Tuesday and Wednesdays 5.00pm - 8.00pm
