Hello! My name is Sam. I am a keen percussionist and singer with over 5 years' teaching experience. I have completed a BA in Music (First Class honours) and an MSt in Musicology from the University of Oxford. I also have Enhanced DBS clearance and extensive child safeguarding training. I believe in equipping students with the tools they need to understand music without rote learning. I aim to give pupils an enjoyable and strong grounding in music appreciation and study, which ensures both success at exams and an organic love for the art of music. I have over 4 years' experience in music teaching and offer personalised and engaging lessons for students of all ages. My timings are flexible, with most lessons normally 1 hour in length.

I could honestly not recommend Sam enough. He helped my daughter understand complicated musical concepts by breaking them down into easy bits. This made her more able to figure out how to play her piano pieces. She really loved learning with him, and I would recommend him to anyone wanting to learn music theory.

Could not recommend Sam enough as a tutor! He managed to turn even the most daunting of my dissertation-related problems into easy, manageable tasks and worked incredibly hard to make sure I felt motivated and confident throughout our lessons. Despite picking a somewhat niche dissertation topic, Sam went above and beyond to ensure he had a firm grasp of the issues at hand so that we could have a fruitful discussion. If you ever feel lost or stuck with a dissertation, Sam will be an absolute lifesaver.
