About Kacey
During high school science was not my favourite subject until I started my animal management with science qualification. Having science applied to animals and ecosystems helped me make sense of it all and it became my favourite subject. It completely changed my view of the world and learn the importance of nature and our place in it. From then on I decided that my goal would be to teach and make science accessible. Science should not be intimidating and I hope to make it fun!

I believe that learning should be interactive, engaging, and, most importantly, fun! My approach is rooted in hands-on experiences, real-world applications, and fostering curiosity. I take a student-centred approach, tailoring lessons to each child’s individual learning style and interests. Whether it's through interactive activities, visual aids, or guided discussions, I make complex scientific concepts accessible and exciting for every learner. I aim to keep my lessons engaging by incorporating a mix of demonstrations, short discussions, and practical activities that students can apply in their everyday lives. Each class typically lasts around 45 to 60 minutes, allowing enough time to dive into the topic without overwhelming the students. This also gives us time to explore questions and wrap up with a fun, interactive activity or reflection. I have a BSc in Marine Ecology and Conservation and experience in public engagement through volunteering at the Cambridge Zoology Museum and working in animal care. My classes are designed for kids aged 8-14 who are curious about the natural world, animal science, and ecology. I’m here to spark their curiosity and help them develop a deeper understanding of the environment around them!
