About Areum
안녕하세요! I'm 아름 (Areum). I'm originally from South Korea but I lived in Hong Kong for a year and recently moved to Oxford, UK. I’ve always loved learning about different cultures but I realised that what you find on the internet can sometimes be quite different from reality. Because of this experience, I want to help people who are eager to learn natural, real life Korean and genuine Korean culture used in actual conversations!

Korean
I believe the best way to learn a language is by actually using it, not just memorising textbook rules. My lessons focus on natural, real conversation paired with practical expressions. I also love weaving in local Korean culture and idioms so that students can understand the context behind the words, making the learning process much more intuitive and fun!
Lessons are typically 50 minutes long, which gives us enough time to review, practise new patterns, and have a natural conversation without feeling rushed. (Customisable options are always welcome!)
I am a native Korean speaker who completed the professional Korean Language Instructor training programme at Yonsei University, where I gained hands-on experience teaching learners from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
These lessons are designed for everyone—from absolute beginners taking their first steps to advanced learners wanting to polish their fluency. Whether you are interested in daily conversation, travel prep, or Korean culture, all ages and levels are welcome!
