About Sia
As a dedicated Violin tutor with 8 years of experience, I have had the privilege of mentoring around 150 students across different skill levels.
Teaching violin is not just about technique for me; it is about inspiring confidence and musical expression. My lessons begin with strengthening foundational skills such as posture, bow grip, tone clarity, and finger accuracy. As students advance, I introduce expressive techniques, dynamic control, and performance preparation.
I maintain a balanced approach that combines discipline with encouragement, ensuring students stay motivated throughout their learning journey. I also incorporate music theory basics and listening exercises to enhance overall musicianship.
I am known for my calm and patient teaching style, which helps students overcome hesitation and build stage confidence. My goal is to guide each learner towards becoming an independent and confident musician who truly enjoys playing the violin.

My methodology for teaching violin focuses on adaptability and real-world application. I begin by understanding the student’s goals—whether learning for hobby, academic exams, orchestra participation, or professional development.
Based on this, I create a personalised lesson plan. I adjust my teaching style depending on how the student absorbs information best.
Along with technical violin training, I teach music theory, scales and arpeggios, ear development, rhythm practice, sight reading, and basic improvisation.
I use real-life case studies such as concert preparation, rehearsal discipline, and collaborative performances to show how practice translates into success. This practical approach keeps students motivated and focused. My aim is to shape well-rounded musicians who combine technical skill with musical understanding.
