Myself, as an engineering graduate, I have taken many maths exams and helped many with their maths so far and I have been described as friendly and understanding. My priorities are to build their confidence with maths by providing them the tools to succeed whilst being sensitive to their needs and encouraging, and with confidence and practice comes improvements! Regarding the structure - first I identify problem areas, next work through questions together building confidence to then answer the questions independently. I often revisit topics in the next lesson in order to transfer what was learnt from short term memory to long term memory by using what they learnt last time and reinforcing it. Lastly for exam prep, we work on past papers together which allows them to get more practice for the real exam and get used to the layout and I give additional tips and tricks for exams.
I am a graduate from Imperial College London at Masters Level, with 9 years of maths tutoring experience, both private and with tutoring companies
