About Emmaline
I’m a teacher, performer, and writer with a passion for helping people grow in confidence and discover their unique voice. I have taught English, Drama, and LAMDA for over 15 years in both state and independent schools, including Millfield. Alongside my teaching career, I am also a comedy writer and performer with an MA in Comedy Writing, which means I bring creativity, humour, and fresh ideas into my lessons. I founded Blissed-out Yoga and run classes, workshops, and teacher training courses, so I also bring a sense of calm encouragement and wellbeing to everything I do. Above all, I love working with people of all ages and backgrounds — from children preparing for exams to adults building communication skills for work, performance, or personal growth. I believe learning should be engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student’s unique needs. My lessons combine clear structure with creativity, so that students not only build confidence in the subject but also enjoy the process. I use a mixture of explanation, discussion, practical exercises, and feedback, always adapting my methods to suit different learning styles. Lesson Length Most lessons are 60 minutes, which provides a focused and productive session. However, I can also offer 30-minute or 90-minute lessons depending on age, attention span, and specific goals. My Qualifications & Experience BA (Hons) Drama with English PGCE in Secondary English Teaching MA in Comedy Writing (Falmouth University) Over 15 years’ experience teaching English, Drama, and LAMDA (Performance & Communication) in both state and independent schools, including Millfield School. Extensive experience coaching students one-to-one, preparing them for exams, auditions, and performances. Who I Teach I work with a wide range of learners: School pupils (KS3–KS5) preparing for English or Drama exams Students working towards LAMDA exams (Entry level through Grade 8) Adults developing confidence in communication, public speaking, or creative writing Anyone who would like to strengthen their skills in English language, literature, or performance Above all, my classes are friendly, encouraging, and tailored to help you reach your goals — whether that’s passing an exam, gaining a qualification, or finding your own voice and confidence.
