About Felicity
I am an award-winning journalist, event speaker, and former BBC R4 Kitchen Cabinet Panellist. I am a graduate of the University of Edinburgh where I studied linguistics and English Language, and thus have a professional understanding of how language works and an excellent ear for the details of pronunciation.
I live in the Southside of Glasgow and love it here very much, enjoying all sort of outdoor activities on our doorstep. I am English, and my natural accent is Southern Standard British, but I can switch very quickly into a broad Glaswegian manner.

Firstly, I am sorry we live in a world where your natural accent is not well received! I love all accents, but can also fully understand the reasons behind wanting to modify yours, from the desire to sound more professional, to being better understood in your local community, to just wanting to 'fit in in' the UK a little more.
During your lessons, we will do lots of speaking practice, and go over the building blocks of speech including vowels and consonants, specifically exploring how we can shape your existing pronunciation to sound more British – whether that's a standard Scottish accent you'd prefer to adopt, or a more southern English accent (think BBC R4 and Bridgerton!). You will go away with homework each week to practise what you've learned. Often that homework is just listening to something fun!
Lessons are offered to anyone over the age of 18, and around around 45 minutes long. Any longer, and concentration can wane quickly. I much prefer to work in person, as a lot of vocal nuance can be lost online.
