About Stacey
- What kind of experience do you have?
I am an experienced private tutor and qualified English teacher with over 6 years of experience teaching. I have previously been Head of Media and Film Studies for a number of years, before choosing to focus on my own maths and English tuition centres from January 2015.
I am also a Teaching Leaders alumni, and was nominee for the Pearson Prize for Pupil Impact 2014, due to the outstanding progress of my students with regards to meeting and surpassing their minimum target grades in media studies.
In school I ran workshops as part of the Easter School revision sessions for English, Media Studies and Film Studies, as well as prepared students on a 1-2-1 and small group basis, for their early entry English Language exams, as well as for Literature.
I also complete the English diagnostic assessments for students wishing to join one of the Chiswick First Class Learning centres.
My 1-2-1 experience is mostly with GCSE students, preparing for controlled assessments and revising key texts for the exam. I have also tutored KS3 and KS2 on a 1-2-1 basis, although, depending on the child, I feel that the First Class Learning maths and English programmes are very effective for all students in terms of helping them to develop and consolidate skills in both subjects.
For English Language, I am happy to look at the specifics of the exam board your child is completing as I have taught AQA, Edexcel and Cambridge Board IGCSE and can explore other specifications and adapt to the needs of the student.

Thank you for visiting my profile. I am Centre Manager of three First Class Learning (FCL) study centres - Chiswick, Chiswick Park and Chiswick Riverside. In class and privately I have taught KS2 - KS5, and support early learners to GCSE through FCL.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
Currently I am mostly teaching KS2 - KS4 English through my maths and English tuition centres in Chiswick. At the moment I am only able to take on students who can attend one of the centres. As well as being placed on a personalised programme of study in English and/or maths, students can also opt for additional SATs and GCSE resources and support in the run-up to assessments.
In school I have taught KS3 and KS4 English Language and Literature and KS5 English Literature. As Curriculum Leader of Media and Film Studies, I also taught OCR Media Studies and WJEC Film Studies for both KS4 and KS5.
Aside from teaching and tutoring, I also have recent experience of marking examination scripts for GCSE English and Media Studies in 2015, furthering my understanding of the exam requirements.

- Tell me about your qualifications.
In 2008 I completed my Bachelor of Arts (BA Hons) Drama Degree at Exeter University, before completing my Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Secondary English, Media and Drama in 2010, which I passed with merit.
- How much do you charge?
I am only able to accept students who can attend one of the FCL study centres in Chiswick. Sibling discount is also available, and please get in touch for further information on our resourcing for assessments from KS2 - KS4.

- Where do you teach?
The following are the FCL Chiswick study centres where our classes take place. Students attend one centre, once a week for 15-30 minutes per subject. Time at the centres would also depend on age and additional support and resources for those preparing for assessments.

- When are you available?
We are open all year around with advance notice of any closures, and work provided throughout any closures.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
If you are interested in the First Class Learning approach, offering both maths and English personalised and individually tailored programmes, please contact me to discuss your needs. You will be able to choose from our Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday centre, or opt to join our new Wednesday class opening in September.
This programme is suitable for ALL ages and abilities, from KS1 to KS4. We also have additional programmes for those wishing for additional testing in the preparation for exams. Please contact me to find out more.
