Methodology

My main strength is being able to engage all types of students in lessons and to make learning as fun as possible. I've always been praised on my ability to form relationships with students that allow them to learn and bring down their barriers to learning.

Experience

I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE in Drama and English and have been teaching in both Primary and Secondary schools in the UK. I have a BA-Hons First-Class in Creative Writing.

I am a writer and director and teach full-time.

Principle – March 2020 - Current
Tribe Theatre
• Tribe Theatre was founded in 2020 to provide online performing arts tuition during the COVID pandemic. We have been teaching 3 hours of lessons per week across two evenings since March and have covered a range of scrips and skills.
• We have explored a range of contemporary texts such as Missing Dan Nolan, Dreamjobs and DNA. We have also used the National Theatre online performance to explore AMND and Macbeth, which included both performance and review tasks. We have been working with 11–18 year-olds with an average of 12-15 students in our classes.
• We have also hosted workshops with professionals to run Q&As with students and performance opportunities.

Teacher of Year 6 / Year 4/5 Intervention – October 2020 – Current
Great Witley CE Primary School
• Full time teacher of year 6 to cover for staff absence in October – December 2020. The role involved full time tuition of yeah 6 including creating a syllabus for English, Math, SPAG, Geography, History, PE and working with other staff members to support teaching of RE and Language.
• Once this contract ended, I was employed as support staff to run intervention sessions for year 4 and 5 English and Maths. The role began online, and I have since starting to support in school on a 0.5 contract.

Teacher of Year 5 & 6 – November 2019 – June 2020
Cutnall Green Primary School
• Teacher of Maths and English at Cutnall Green Primary School in year 5 & 6. This role involved being in school 3.5 days per week which was spread across Monday – Friday in the mornings and some afternoons. This was a long-term temporary supply role and I lead planning and teaching for the class.
• As part of my role I assisted with lunchtime duties and after school clubs. I also provided cover for year 3 when requested to provide teachers PPA time and attended multiple trips for the school as a chaperone.
• I became the classes full time teacher during COVID lockdown and remotely taught students daily.

Head of Drama– September 2017 – March 2020
Studio B Performing Arts Centre - Worcester – Worcestershire
• Determining termly syllabus across 3 age groups, tracking progress of students, writing, casting and organising yearly Drama show. February 2018 Immortal Justice featured 34 students from junior-senior groups. The show was performed over two nights at Nunnery Wood high school and sold over 300 tickets.
• Written and directed ‘Locked in’ for the Worcestershire Theatre Festival 2019. Best Youth Play, Best Music, Best Young Actor and Best Young Actress awards won and competed in The British All Winners Festival in Woking 2019.
• Worcestershire Theatre Festival 2020 – Director of Chatroom by Enda Walsh and Blackout by Davey Anderson. Winner of Best Youth Play, Best Young Actor, Best Young Actress, Adjudicators Award and Best Director. Qualified for All England Theatre Festival Quarter Finals.

Dwarf Supervisor –November 2019 – January 2020
The Regal Theatre - Tenbury
• This was part of a role involving The Regals professional pantomime, Snow White and The Severn Dwarfs. I took responsibility for working with the dwarfs in intensive rehearsals and choreographing their scenes. They took part in solo scenes, scenes with professionals and multiple dances. Dwarfs performed with a voice over for their lines and their actions were synced to these lines. This was a continuous recording and correct timing was essential. During performances I was responsible for chaperoning and directing cast backstage and assisting with costume and prop issues as well as giving regular feedback. I also took lead on a recording day with the cast where we created a short film for the opening scene with the characters. This involved a day of filming with the cast and making directorial choices.

Regal Theatre School Drama Teacher – September 2019 – Current.
The Regal Theatre - Tenbury
• I have recently taken responsibility for the Junior, Intermediate and Senior groups at the Regal Theatre School. In December 2019 we completed a turning on of the lights showcase for residents and this involved monologues, duologues and group performance of drama mixed with musical theatre. Students from the school have also taken part in the Regal’s professional pantomime.
• I have responsibility for the curriculum of the groups and any performance opportunities that may occur. This includes drama performances and musicals when working with the musical theatre students of the school.

Examiner –September 2019 – Current
LAMDA, London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art – Hammersmith, London
• LAMDA syllabus allows for qualifications in acting, musical theatre, mime, verse, prose and more. This role requires an in depth understanding of the syllabuses and the marking criteria and to travel around the UK examining students.

Private LAMDA Centre Coordinator– September 2018 – March 2020
Studio B Performing Arts Centre - Worcester – Worcestershire
• Studio B Performing Arts is a private centre for LAMDA exams meaning that we book in examiners to personally travel to our studios to complete exams. Booking exams requires organisation of students, teachers and conversing with LAMDA to arrange the details of the exam.
• Part of this responsibility is also greeting and taking care of the examiner on the day of the exam and arranging their travel to and from our venue.

Schools Direct (QTS/PGCE) –September 2018 – July 2019
RSA Arrowvale / RSA Holyhead / Birmingham City University
• Teaching training (School Direct). Main placement school at RSA Arrowvale and a placement at RSA Holyhead. Primary subject in drama with a 40% timetable in English. Years 7-13, experience in KS3, KS4 and KS5.

LAMDA Syllabus Review – August 2018 – September 2018
London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art – Hammersmith, London
• Consultant for LAMDA exams. Position included reading and commenting on syllabus texts and syllabus content, giving opinions and constructive comments for the team ahead of the syllabus being changed in 2019.
