About Philani
I am Philani — BA Journalism (UJ (concealed information)) 2019-2021, English 1C/D 75% DISTINCTION, Matric 2018: IsiZulu 87%, English 79%, LO 94%, Geography 75%, APS 35 (49 Wits).
I help Grade 10-12 and first-year university students who struggle with English essays, literature, comprehension, and IsiZulu home language grammar & literature.

*How my lessons work — different from school:*
*1. Diagnose in 10 mins:*
First lesson I ask you to write 5 lines or read a paragraph. I mark it like UJ marks — I find your 3 biggest points you lose marks on (e.g. referencing, essay structure, tense). We fix those 3 only, not everything.
*2. UJ Method — I teach how markers think:*
I got 75% DISTINCTION in English 1C/D at UJ because I learnt: Introduction + Thesis + PEEL paragraphs + Conclusion + Harvard referencing. I give you my 1-page template. You use it for every essay — Matric or First Year — and stop losing 15% on structure.
*3. IsiZulu — we speak it:*
IsiZulu 87% matric — I teach grammar by speaking, not memorising. 20 mins grammar, 20 mins essay writing, 20 mins oral practice. You will stop mixing English and Zulu in essays.
*4. No boring notes — we fix YOUR work:*
You bring your failed essay, homework, or assignment that got 50%. We rewrite it together live on WhatsApp Video, I explain why I change each sentence. You submit improved version next day — your teacher sees improvement.
*5. Plagiarism & AI-proof:*
I show you how to write so Turnitin and lecturers don't flag you. Especially for UJ reflective assignments — I teach paraphrasing, not copy-paste.
