About Erin
Hi! I'm Erin. They say that one is good at math, science, or English. I'm an English kind of gal. Since I was in grade school I have excelled in English. I love reading, writing, and speaking publicly. I have tutored in English since I was in junior high school and have had great results. When in college, I took just about every English class that was available and several public speaking classes to boot. These classes required articulation, a rather expansive vocabulary, and a great competence in grammar and basic English. As my younger sister aged into high school, I started tutoring her classmates as well as some of my fellow college students. My specialties are analytical and research essays (portfolio available via google docs.) In order to have productive lessons, I'd like to get an understanding of an individuals needs, strengths, and weaknesses. Like in school, you start basic and build on top of what you learned the year before. My tutoring sessions range from introduction/little English speaking, to reading and writing in English. Since learning a language requires the auditory aspect, I prefer video chats. A typical lesson plan will start with a simple introductory conversation (ask about one's day, family, pets, work, etc.) This will lead into learning new words, learning/building on conjugations, and more complex (but within the learners capability) conversations integrating new words learned .
