About Bilal

I’m Bilal, a TEFL-qualified English tutor, writer and performance poet with a Master’s in Creative Writing, awarded with Distinction. My experience in public speaking and live performance has given me a practical understanding of how language, rhythm, tone and delivery shape communication.

I help adult English speakers refine not just what they say, but how they express it. This includes developing a better feel for natural phrasing, interpreting conversational nuance and adapting language to different contexts.

My approach is supportive, individual and conversation-led. Rather than simply correcting mistakes, I help you understand the choices available to you and why certain expressions work better in particular situations.

The goal isn’t to erase your accent or change who you are. It’s to give you greater flexibility, confidence and control over how you communicate in English.

About the lesson

I offer tailored, one-to-one English fluency coaching for adult learners who want to move beyond grammatical accuracy and develop a more natural command of spoken English.

Sessions are conversation-led and practical, built around the situations you encounter in everyday life. We work with your real speech, identifying opportunities to refine phrasing, improve flow, understand nuance and communicate more effectively.

Depending on your goals, sessions can focus on:

• Natural expression: finding the right words and phrases to express yourself clearly without sounding overly formal or translated.
• Conversation skills: responding spontaneously, keeping conversations flowing and navigating different social situations.
• Tone and nuance: understanding how word choice, emphasis, politeness, humour and context shape meaning in British English.
• Confidence and fluency: reducing hesitation, expressing your thoughts more comfortably and developing greater ease when speaking.
• Professional communication: adapting your language to workplace conversations, networking, meetings and other professional settings.

Each session gives you practical feedback, useful expressions and opportunities to apply what you’ve learnt. We can work towards specific situations you want to handle more confidently or develop your fluency through ongoing practice.

Lessons are personalised to your current level, interests and goals, with an emphasis on real communication rather than textbook exercises. Sessions are available in person in Birmingham.

Important: £40/hour for face-to-face tuition within my local area, with travel fees applicable depending on location. Please enquire for the exact rate before booking.
