About Ella
I love working with and inspiring children, and in September 2020 I even au-paired with an Italian family as part of a cultural exchange. Teaching for me is so important because I believe I also benefit from the learning experience. For the older children I used to tutor they often felt like school was impersonal or patronising; personally, the best aspect of tutoring is the one-on-one relationship which allows students a new care and attention.

Teaching should be fun and enriching not boring and laborious, I have learnt that revising and academic success is about working smart rather than hard. I will help my students learn by adapting my teaching style to their preferences.
I worked as a tutor from February 2017 - September 2018 at Numberworks'n'Words, and during my time there tutored students in both English and Maths from the ages of 5-16 which demanded an adaptability. I used mnemonics, games, and creative writing exercises to develop confidence and skills for younger children. However, for older children there was a greater focus on exam preparation and comprehension so that they could greater understand how to apply their learning.
