About Stephanie
I am a native speaker of English from the UK and a graduate of English Language and Linguistics in the process of completing a Level 5 TEFL course, which means I will soon officially be a fully qualified EFL teacher!
Whilst travelling in Australia I helped a number of Asian and South American university students with proofreading of essays, grammar, widening vocabulary and improving conversational English skills. A Chinese roommate of mine whom I helped with business essays made so much progress after working with me her grades moved up two classes in one semester at university!
My knowledge and understanding of the English language is exceptional and I am patient, resourceful and friendly. I am a grammar geek and can break down and explain even the most complicated English structures. My goal is to use the knowledge I have at my disposal as a native speaker and the talent I have for words, communication and writing to ensure that students have the best possible grasp of this complicated language!
My future plans are to travel further, armed with my TEFL qualification, and teach English abroad. I have had offers to work as a teacher of English in China and the United Arab Emirates in recent months, but would like to stay home and hone my craft before jetting off!

I adapt my tutoring style to the individual needs of the student. My methods are very cooperative and engaging, I will always provide ample examples and ask students to show me that they understand (or don't) before moving forward. I offer tutoring to more advanced learners of the English language, those who are at a decent level of understanding but perhaps need help with more complicated grammar or vocabulary.
