About Gretchen
- I am a CELTA certified ESOL/ESL/EFL teacher. I have taught at two English Language Schools in Perth.
- Before I did my CELTA training, I taught undergraduate philosophy classes at Murdoch University and the Australian National University.
- I am working towards a Master of Teaching (secondary) degree. My teaching areas are English and EALD English.
- I also work as a after school tutor for students aged 8 to 18 to help with school English, focusing on reading comprehension and writing skills.
- I have been giving lessons through SuperProf since 2019.

- In our first session I conduct a needs analysis to discover what each student wants to get out of our lessons and to determine which materials will be most useful for them.
- Each individual lesson can cover a number of skills, including reading, listening, speaking, writing, and grammar. I plan each lesson to suit the individual student and their aims.
- I believe in listening to students and working with them to meet their needs. I give clear feedback to students and work with them to achieve their stated goals.
- I have extensive experience in teaching writing skills, particularly essay writing and writing for academic purposes.

- In my free first lesson, I do a needs analysis to assess the student level, discuss their goals, and determine whether I am the right tutor for them.
- I am happy to meet students up to 10km from Fremantle . Any further travel is an extra $15 per lesson (negotiable depending on distances).
- I am happy to meet in public libraries or cafes if you prefer not to have the lesson in your home.
