About Mary
I have previously tutored one GCSE student, taking them from an E to C grade. I have also taught a module in dystopian literature, where one of the students I mentored won a creative writing prize!

I'm able to tutor up to A Level in English Language and Literature - I've got impressive A*s in these under my belt plus a degree from a top university!
My general lesson structure involves exercises which creatively engage the student(s) in the subject - whether that be hotseating or writing a diary entry from a character's perspective! I like to end every lesson with an 'exam focus', as a lot of the best grades are achieved by just knowing what the examiners want to see.
I am to hold an initial 'trial session' so that we can get to know each other and the student(s) needs. From here I will create a shared drive of resources and updated lesson plans which parents/students can edit and respond to virtually so that they are fully prepared for all lessons and getting the most out of them!
