About Lucy
I am a university student and experienced English tutor with a strong passion for text analysis, close reading, poetry, and personal statement writing. Alongside my academic studies, I have previous experience tutoring students of different ages and abilities, as well as working as a drama teacher, where I developed the ability to build confidence, nurture creativity, and explain complex ideas clearly.
As a neurodivergent tutor (dyslexic and autistic), I bring both personal understanding and innovative learning strategies to my sessions. I know what it feels like to struggle with confidence or to feel misunderstood in academic settings, and I am passionate about supporting students who may be in the position I once was. I tutor because I want to help students recognise their strengths, achieve their goals, and realise their full potential in a way that feels empowering and authentic to them.

I have a particular strength in text analysis, close reading, poetry, and crafting standout university personal statements. I help students move beyond surface-level understanding to develop sharp, original, and confident pieces of writing.
As someone who is dyslexic and autistic, I bring creative methods, structured thinking strategies, and a deep understanding of neurodivergent learning styles. I specialise in helping students who feel “stuck” with analysis or overwhelmed by writing tasks, breaking complex ideas into clear, manageable steps.
Whether you’re aiming for top grades or preparing a compelling university application, I offer thoughtful, tailored support that builds both skill and confidence. I have assisted three students in University applications, all of which received unconditional offers.
