About Samantha
My name is Sam - hello!
I’m a PhD student currently in the English Literature field. I’m writing a memoir and exodus on fatphobia in literature spanning from fairy tales to contemporary work.
Upon completion of my PhD, I will be aiming to becoming a lecturer within a university to lecture, lead seminars and supervise dissertations at undergrad, masters and PhD level.

Offering bespoke 1-2-1 tutor sessions to help gain a grasp of literature texts at GCSE, A Level and Undergraduate level.
No question is too silly and no idea too obscure. We can work together to help you understand the basics and shape your work to an excellent level.
I have a 2.1 BA (Hons) in English Literature and a Distinction in MA English Literature and Creative Writing. I am currently undertaking a PhD part time that is split between creative writing and critical research.
I have mentored undergraduates during my time as a PhD student so am fully able to work to any level up to final year undergraduate as well as AS/A2 and KS4.
I like to go back to basics with methodology on how to get the best from tutoring sessions, but it’s also very important that together we work out how you consume and best understand and retain information. For both open and closed book exams, essay writing and coursework.
Before our session, you can provide me details of your exam board and / or confirm the material you need to know so we can immediately get stuck into the literature together.
Session lengths are usually 1 or 2 hours and I would advise this on a weekly basis to maintain consistency.
