Most of my lessons begin with short activities focused on the aspect of the greater lesson. This is usually in the form of a fun game that engages them with the topic while easing them into the session and making them feel comfortable enough to confidently experiment with ideas and interpretations throughout the lesson so that they really get the most out of it. The main bulk of most lessons work closely with exam questions and past papers-that might not always be actually answering a question but it ensures that any knowledge acquired from activities across the session is always applied to the exam technique that really scores the marks.
I have been delivering private tutorials at MyTutor.co.uk for over 2 years, having received 95 5 star reviews for my interesting and imaginative approach to teaching English. A warm and friendly final year University student of English, I have both the subject knowledge and the personable awareness that will allow your child to succeed.

Enthusiasm for volunteering, from my local Rainbows to paired reading schemes to teaching English to and building desks for students during my time in East Africa.
I am a travel enthusiast and love experiencing new cultures and ways of life outside of my comfort zone; this is something I have been able to combine with my interests in blogging, journalism and descriptive writing since starting University. Travelling through East Africa and South America has allowed me to meet so many humbling people but also exposed me to some troubling situations, nurturing an already empathetic outlook on life and drawing me to charitable and community roles during my time at Durham from organising fundraisers to packing refugee Christmas boxes and cleaning up local parks.
Further pursuing my interest in writing, since reviewing the Edinburgh Fringe festival in the Summer of 2017 I have enjoyed assuming many positions that have further challenged a personal flair for writing. Working closely with Durham University’s student Newspaper, Palatinate, I have had numerous pieces published online and in print as well as gaining editorial experience that has proved invaluable to the refining of my own writing.
As another expressive art, my decade long dedication to the same dance school has allowed me to experiment with my creative side, through the involvement in numerous productions and Eisteddfods, as well as providing me with a disciplined endurance and competitive drive both individually, allowing me to achieve ISTD qualifications to an Intermediate level, and within a team during competition time.
