I am happy to teach those in primary school and kids studying for their GCSEs and A Levels. I find discussing personal interests in literature a good way to gauge how best to approach learning. Even if students don't initially find literature interesting, I believe there's ways to get everyone engaged in reading.
My approach to teaching will be based mostly on the assessment objectives set by schools or exam boards to ensure they are being taught the right things. From there, I will find the best way to improve their writing skills whether that be working on grammar, spelling or literature analysis.
I am a final year English literature student, currently on the way to graduating with a 1st. I have studied poetry, plays and novels from 15th century all the way to the 21st, paying particular attention to Shakespeare and 17th/18th century poetry.
I have experience in the classroom from assisting a number of teachers in English, French and Art. This has helped be find ways to engage younger students.
