About Charlie
I am a soon-to-be graduate from Durham Uni. From a disadvantaged area originally, I have benefitted all my life from good teachers who have helped me get to where I have. I would like to pay that back. I am also genuinely interested in English literature, literary theory, and helping students learn how to craft arguments and learn what they think through writing

I believe the best way to approach English exams is through two things:
1) encouraging free thinking as well as the student’s individual, personal ideas. Often dismissed as not something possible to be taught, one’s ideas can be developed through an atmosphere of discussion
2) developing a strong, personal writing style. This is because your ideas are not simply important, but also how you express them. I will help you hone your writing by going over relevant past papers, focussing on how good essays work, as well as taking some time to look at writing theory
