My approach to topics is to find out what each child already knows and then build upon that knowledge ensuring they are supporting the understanding they already have. My teaching method is adaptive and creative and I work to each student's strengths, offering a personalised and effective tutoring session for each student
I am an English student currently studying in Sheffield and living in Manchester. Tutoring is something I have been doing since 2014 mostly for GSCE English or History. Every student I have taught has achieved a grade C or higher.
Rates do not vary according to the level of the student, however if I am travelling further than 10km then may ask for travelling fees

As can be seen by all of my additional activities came from volunteering, and these positions are ones that I have pushed myself to find and partake in.
• Time Management
Many of my experiences have featured critical deadlines whether they be immediate or months away. For example, covering an entire History course up to the deadline of the final exam for my tutor group.
• Planning/ Event Planning
For my NCS experience we had to plan an event which was predominantly for young children, therefore not only did this feature a lot of planning but also a lot of risk assessments. As well as this in order to fund raise for Romania I had to personally organise many events ranging from bag packing at Tesco’s to book sales and car washes.
Whilst tutoring children I had to ensure that I was able to adapt to learning speeds but also to areas that students struggled with even if that meant abandoning lesson plans.
In group or team situations creativity is very often key for resolving issues and finding solutions to long standing problems. I also consider it fundamental as with creativity it is easier develop ideas in an original way that helps you to stand out from your competition.

Stretford Grammar - Tutor
Personally, ran a tutoring group in my school in order to help between 10-15 children achieve their best grades in History GCSE for two years.
My group included students who were particularly struggling with the subject and achieving grades C or D consistently. Out of all the children I tutored all passed their GCSE and many got either a grade A or B.
2014-07 to 2015-07
Fundraising and Charity work
Raised funds myself for over £1000 over the course of a year, in order to take part in a volunteering opportunity in Romania.
In this two-week trip abroad to the country not only did we trek through the foothills of the Fagaras mountains but also help to build homes for the displaced Roma community.
On top of this we also ran a children's club where we played simple educational games and tried to teach the children some English as many were unable to access education.
2014-07 to 2014-08
I went through the NCS Summer programme which ran for 4 weeks over the summer after I finished high school. Within this four-week programme I led a pitch for funding and due to my effort as well as the rest of my team's efforts we were allocated the most funding possible.
As part of the programme you have to decide on a community project to partake in, for this we decided to run a children's fun day in Altrincham, Manchester. The day was considered a huge success with over 150 attending.
2014-06 to 2015-05
Clifton Country Park - Conservation and Volunteering
I volunteered for the Summer at Clifton Country park to take part in conservation work throughout the park. I also co-ran a young children's group every Friday which helped to educate children on nature and the different habitats animals live in.
As well as this I also partook in later events which were ran at Halloween and Easter at other parks as part of the Clifton team which involved the setting up of treasure hunts and volunteering throughout the day to entertain and interact with children of all ages.
2018-05 to 2019-06
Sheffield Hallam University - Mentoring
I am currently beginning training so that at the beginning of the new academic year I am able to mentor a new or existing student who experiences learning difficulties and autism.
