Hello there,
I'm Lucy, I recently graduated from the University of Warwick with a BA in English Literature and I'm soon to go back and do my masters' degree. I would love to use this summer as an opportunity to help you improve your English skills.
In terms of teaching style I believe in a personal and collaborative approach so will spend the first part of our first session establishing what works best for you, and what you are personally looking to achieve. It's all about playing to your strengths to make you more confident in your abilities. Hopefully my tutoring is relaxing and enjoyable; I really love my subject and I think I can make you passionate about it too!
If you have any questions or requests at all, please just ask me

I have 5 years experience tutoring students of different abilities and backgrounds; whether it's brushing up on your rhetoric before law school, learning English for the first time or help with spelling, punctuation and grammar - I should be able to help. In the past I have particularly enjoyed helping students make the jump from GCSE to A-Level standard, which I know can be quite daunting for year 11s. I have also done quite a bit of one to one work with students preparing for GCSEs who are on the C/D borderline. I also worked in a reading programme, helping children who struggled keeping up with reading in school, working on phonics and how to break up long sentences.
I prefer people coming to me, but if it's a pain don't worry - I can come to your home or Skype. If you'd like to buy a set of lessons I can design a curriculum for however many sessions you'd like and I'm happy to be flexible with rates if you'll be sticking around! Any queries - just ask me :)
Perfect! As Lydia’s father, she said Lucy was excellent, enthusiastic and very well organised (pre read) for this lesson. Lydia found the tutorial very helpful indeed.
As a comment from myself, I think Lucy is worth more than she charges. Sometime a low cost can be miss read as low value, but that is certainly not the case here. Great value for money.
I think Lydia cannot be the only A level student who appreciates this type of one of or guiding tutorial and that’s possibly were the market is
Thank you for taking Lydia at short notice.
Lydia was really lovely and engaged as a student. She clearly knows her stuff, she just needs that extra bit of confidence to follow her instincts and write what she thinks. If I can do anything else to help with her essays just let me know - I'd be happy to look over a first draft for her if she starts getting nervous again!
