About Matthew
I've been unofficially tutoring for the better part of three years, mostly to my fellow students during my degree with working on their essays, presentations, dissertations - even down to their understanding of certain topics and particular concepts. The most students I've taught at once would be around 20, when a friend asked for my help and ended up bringing 19 of her equally-stumped colleagues. They all went away really satisfied, and all reported success in the areas I helped them with (if memory serves, they wanted their essays checking over and feedback given on where they could improve).

I have an English Master's Degree and a deep passion for the subject in all its forms, literature, grammar, vocabulary, intonation, expression, subtext, symbolism, signifiers, and so on! I am happy to teach anyone above the age of 5, on any issue that they're having difficulty with as long as it's English-based.
Lessons will be at the student's desired pace and development levels, with a focus on understanding rather than memorizing - English is so varied in its potential applications that there's no sense in approaching it any other way, in my opinion.

Details
If a student is unable to attend, I would urge them to cancel their lessons as soon as possible - if I cannot receive confirmation of a cancellation one hour before the scheduled time, I will presume the lesson is going ahead. If the student in question only requires a single uncomplicated query, then email correspondence will be acceptable. That said, should the answer prove more complex than a single sentence's worth as an answer, a time for a scheduled lesson will be requested of the student.
