About Stefanie
I have been giving private lessons since 2015. I have been teaching for six years. I started teaching at a Cambridge school in Lisbon and then taught at a Canadian Private School in Korea. I started private tutoring in Tacoma, Washington two years ago mostly to Korean-Americans in the area prepping for the TOEFL or already attending the University of Washington. During that time I also taught a playgroup of 8 and 9 year olds basic-beginners French for half an hour twice a week for almost an entire year and a half. Because of the needs of my former students I have the most experience helping learners become better at three main skills: speaking and listening, test preparation and essay writing.

My teaching method is mostly the flipped classroom model. A flipped classroom reverses the traditional learning environment by having students exposed to the material first outside of the classroom. Classroom time is reserved for practice of the language, as opposed to lots of direct instruction (lecturing.) For example, if I am planning lessons and homework I would give homework that is applicable to the next class.
