About Sofia
I am a 19-year-old first-year English student at Trinity College Dublin with a strong academic background and a genuine love of learning. I achieved 99% (H1) in Leaving Cert English and 600 points overall, and I take a focused, organized, and reliable approach to tutoring.
I have always loved reading and language, which led me to study English at university. I am also fluent in Spanish, as my mother is Argentinian, giving me a strong grasp of language, expression, and communication. Outside of academics, I enjoy sea swimming and good coffee, and I bring the same calm, consistent energy into my lessons. I aim to be approachable, well-prepared, and professional, helping students feel supported and confident as they work towards their goals.
I want to teach because I enjoy helping students build confidence and achieve their potential. Having recently completed the Leaving Cert myself, I understand the pressures and challenges students face, and I know how much a structured, supportive approach can make a difference. I find it rewarding to share strategies, clarify tricky concepts, and guide students to see their own progress. Teaching allows me to combine my love of English and language with helping others succeed, and I aim to make each lesson both effective and encouraging.

My approach to tutoring is supportive, clear, and exam-focused. I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in their abilities. I break down what the Leaving Cert examiners are looking for and help students express their ideas clearly and effectively.
Lessons typically last 1 hour and include explanation, guided practice, and personalised feedback. I support students with both Paper 1 and Paper 2, focusing on improving essay structure, comprehension skills, and overall written expression.
I achieved 99% (H1) in Leaving Cert English and 600 points overall, and I am currently a first-year English student at Trinity College Dublin. Having recently completed the Leaving Cert myself, I understand the pressures students face and tailor lessons to suit individual needs.
Lessons are suitable for Higher Level Leaving Cert students who want to improve their confidence, develop stronger answers, and reach their potential. Sessions are available online via Zoom.
