About Rick
I have always enjoyed mentoring students and staff in my previous professional experience as an IT manager and project manager. Now I am qualified as a Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages and am looking forward to helping students with English and any other ways to help them assimilate to this culture and their studies.

I approach teaching by first getting to know a student well: level of English communication, likes, dislikes, interests and context.
Then I move to a video or a song selected for the student's ability. An informal discussion about the issues in the video are then discussed, establishing an easy conversational relationship with the student.
During this get to know each other period, further lessons are designed around the strengths and weaknesses observed.
Above all I believe each teaching session should be enjoyable and enlightening. I find music useful making learning fun while building competence in rhythm and pronunciation.
