About Nazarena
As an English Teacher with background in Cultural Exchange Programs I have deep knowledge on how to introduce and work a brand new language to kids and adults. I lived abroad for 4 years, in different parts of the USA. Before hand, I studied in my country to be a Elementary and High School teacher while teaching in a private practise to kids and adults.
I have a strong technical proficiency with work history in Childcare for kids from 2-9 years old. Although, my teaching background goes from 9 years old to adults.
I got my TEFL certification in 2021 after living abroad for over 3 years and taking teaching classes for 3 years.

My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in the second language. Learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which the student is encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves. My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style.
My teaching approach is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. My experience has been that one-to-one personal tuition has a unique value to students because of the ability to resolve the students’ personal barriers. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually.
