About Arthur
I'm an English teacher with a lot of experience in regular schools, languages and in private education. I've worked with different methodologies and helped a school to implement a Bilingual project. I developed English with people of all age groups adapting the materials to different contexts.
I have a TESOL/TEFL from the University of State of Arizona.

I rely on 4 theories: ZPD, Scaffolding, PPP and context learning...ZPD (Zone of Proximal Development) is from a Russian educator named Vigotsky and it consists of gradually challenging the student in activities that are tangible for him at the moment , for example: I cannot ask a person who has just entered engineering to assemble an airplane without first having done calculus I. The right thing is to go gradually, within the student's capabilities, building knowledge in such a way that the student feels stimulated and feel that you are making progress. This process of building together, gradually, is called Scaffolding.
To achieve this, we use PPP (presentation, production and practice): it's no use for me to come out of nowhere introducing you to a new subject, I need to introduce you, build with you, see what your experiences are on the subject and etc...a Next, we do the Scaffold, I and you practice the subject presented and finally, the student is invited to independently produce something related to what was developed in class, providing a closure that makes sense within the class.
Finally, all this needs to make sense to the student and be relevant to their reality, so all matters are discussed between you and me so that I can make it as relevant as possible for you and that you feel stimulated. This is context learning (for example, it's no use for me to spend 1 hour talking about the verb to be out of nowhere hahahahah, without giving you any context).
We follow these procedures in all classes, from the beginning to the end of the course, what changes is the grammar level.
PS: PDF material provided by me. But during classes we use videos, audios and etc.
