About Mei Lee
As mentioned, I am currently studying geography at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. However, my upbringing was spent abroad in Budapest, Hungary; Shanghai, China; and New Delhi, India. While my foreign language skills are not as advanced as desired, I understand the challenges that come with learning a new language. I have developed a deep fondness for all the places where I grew up, fostering a genuine passion for exploring new destinations and immersing myself in diverse cultures. During my school years, I actively participated in various extracurriculars, including athletics (volleyball, basketball, football), the visual arts, theater, and service. I find connecting with the outdoors through activities like hiking and swimming to be very fun. Alongside my hands-on passions, I also find great delight in watching films and reading during my leisure time. Above all, it's important for my students to understand that my lessons provide a supportive space, free from judgment or criticism. My goal is to assist in enhancing your English skills, as long as you find enjoyment and have fun along the way. Hopefully, we can also connect through shared interests and engage in conversations about your passions, as I'm always eager to discuss a wide range of topics!

I would consider my teaching style professional and bubbly. Most importantly, I am flexible to your needs! I am perfect for beginner and intermediate English students but can provide help to students of all levels. My lessons encompass a wide spectrum, from casual conversation practice to refining business English writing. For instance, I help students of all ages target enhancing sentence structure and formal speech in English, or simply have a relaxed discussion about hobbies and interests. I'm here to offer support in whatever way I can, so don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have. Coming from a family of international school teachers, teaching is second nature to me. I have always had a passion for teaching, whether mentoring in school or coaching in sports. I have tutored and helped assistant teach English in international schools and find it immensely fulfilling. I understand the anxiety of learning a new language and easily empathize with students eager to improve but hesitant to take risks. For that reason, I cultivate a learning environment that provides a supportive space, free from judgment or criticism. I am so looking forward to meeting with you and helping you achieve your goals! :)
