A typical lesson with me is structured to be both engaging and purposeful, with a strong focus on building knowledge and confidence step by step. We begin with a short recap activity to revisit and reinforce key points from the previous lesson, helping students activate prior learning. From there, we move into the main focus of the session, which may involve introducing new content, revising key material, or tackling a specific skill needed for the exam. I use a mix of teaching strategies including direct instruction, modelling high-quality responses, and regular checks for understanding to ensure students are following and progressing. Lessons always include opportunities for students to practise what they’ve learned through guided and independent tasks, followed by targeted feedback to help them refine their work. Every session is tailored to the student’s individual needs, goals, and learning style—whether they need support with structuring essays, analysing texts, or building exam confidence.
